Inauguration of Mahatheva Padippaham in Thenniyankulam, Mullaitivu

We are proud to announce the inauguration of Mahatheva Padippaham, an educational initiative by The JHC Old Boys Association UK, officially opened on 9th October 2025 in Thenniyankulam, Thunukkai, in the Mullaitivu District of Sri Lanka.

This after-school learning centre offers free classes for students in Years 9, 10, and 11, covering key academic subjects:

English
Mathematics
Science
Tamil Language
History

The current centre in Thenniyankulam continues and expands the mission originally established at Thanduvan, responding to the evolving needs of students in this underserved region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chairman and Secretary of JHC-OBA UK, the Vice Principal of Jaffna Hindu College, along with officials from the Sri Lankan Education Department and Divisional Secretariat.

The project is fully funded by The JHC Old Boys Association UK and is coordinated locally by Olirum Vaalvu, a registered charity in Sri Lanka with a longstanding commitment to educational upliftment.

Dedicated to the memory of our esteemed late Chemistry teacher Mr. Mahatheva, this initiative reflects our Association’s unwavering dedication to expanding educational opportunities for young learners across the island.
